What is TSA Pre-check?

TSA Pre-check is a United States government service that deems applicants a low-risk by TSA to pass through security without having to remove shoes, belts, light jackets, laptops, or compliant liquids. This process can take 30 days before receiving a Known Travelers Number (KTN) and if approved will be active for 5 years.

Then TSA Pre-check might be for you. It’s an expedited security screening process that shrinks your wait at the airport to just a few minutes. In November 2018, 93% of TSA Pre-check passengers waited less than 5 minutes.

With TSA Pre-check Enrollment, you won’t have to remove your shoes, laptops, belts, light jackets, and compliant liquids.

TSA Pre-check is a two-step process. While both can be completed in person, pre-enrolling online will make your in-person experience much smoother and faster.

If you pre-enroll online, you have 120 days to complete the enrollment process.
